If you are a huge Rakim fan like me, then you probably were extremely excited to hear that Rakim is releasing a new album this summer called God’s Network: Reb7th. I always asked myself, if Rakim is one of the best Emcees of all time, why doesn’t he release more music? Well, I am not certain of why that is but it does make it extra special when he does decide to drop a project.
This project has some really great features on it also and one of the first singles is featuring Masta Killa of Wu Tang Clan and Kurupt of The Dogg Pound. The tentative date for the new album is July 26th. The last album that Rakim released was the Seventh Seal which was back in 2009. This has been a 15 year hiatus but I am sure it will be worth the wait. My only advice to Rakim is to try and release another album sooner. Maybe we can get an unreleased music project or even extras from this album. But, that is getting way ahead of ourselves because this one hasn’t even dropped yet.
The new single Reb7th featuring Kurupt and Masta Killa will be out on June 21st.
