I already expressed my deep appreciation of the new Havoc mixtape, Abduction of Havoc. Here are a few other mixtapes that are new or fairly new that are good enough to bring to your attention. Drunk Uncle which is N.O.R.E.’s new mixtape with the album cover imitating John Candy’s Uncle Buck… a classic. Then you have Prodigy of Mobb Deep with about 100 songs to keep you busy, this is called RIP 1 – 3.
I already wrote about the new Maino and Uncle Murda mixtape, definitely check that one out. Maino definitely makes good music and I think he is going to be able to bring the best out of Uncle M. Maino is a guy that works hard because he releases mixtape after mixtape and he has what it takes to be in the mainstream too. Watch out main stream hip hop, you have Maino and Uncle Murda coming for ya…
Last one to mention is Red Cafe, this tape from what I heard sounds like it is just jumping on the bandwagon of the new age gimmick that is out there right now. I am tired of rappers posing next to cars that are not their own, how is that cool? For a guy from Brooklyn it doesn’t sound like the golden age of hip hop has influenced his new music at all. I haven’t listened to the mixtape all the way through though so I don’t want to give it an unfair review. Check it out, maybe it is worth listening to other than the one or two songs I heard.
Check these three out and let me know what you think.by
